Who we are.
You & I began with two people, a mom and her daughter and one simple wish: to make the hard conversations feel a little easier.
As Kristin walked through the early years of her daughter’s growing up, she realized how many parents were looking for the same thing, a way to talk about body changes, emotions, and identity without shame or awkwardness. The kind of conversations that build trust instead of tension.
This book is the result of that journey. It’s equal parts reflection, education, and love letter. It’s for parents and caretakers who want to be present, and for daughters who deserve to feel seen, heard, and celebrated.
Every Family Has a Story.
As we near the end of the editing process for the manuscript, we wanted to gather real stories from women and girls about their first periods. We’ve heard so many versions, some heartfelt, some trauma-ridden, some hilarious, but the point is they’re all important. These stories connect us and break down the barriers of shame and taboo around menstration.
If you feel comfortable, we would be honored to hear yours.
