As we near the end of the editing process for the manuscript, we wanted to gather real stories from women and girls about their first periods.

We’ve heard so many versions, some touching, others filled with trauma, and so many that are straight up funny but the point is they’re all important. These stories connect us and break down the barriers of shame and taboo around menstruation.
